Football, Tackle grades 5-6Recreation & SportsParent meeting, registration and equipment checkout will be Thursday, August 20th @ 530-7 pm in the Activity Center commons,lower level of the Middle School. A Parent must attend the 6:00 p.m. meeting and register their student at the equipment checkout night on Thursday, August 20th. First Practice August 24 from 6-7:30pm Practices will be during the week in the evenings Games will be Saturday mornings at rotating locations starting in September. A schedule will be provided at the parent meeting. Equipment turn-in will be Monday, October 12 from 6-6:30 pm in the middle school Activity Center. Schedule subject to changes. Participants will learn basic skills, terminology, pass patterns, tackling, blocking and organized plays. Time will be divided between learning skills, techniques, and game time. Also, each player will be taught the basic fundamentals of tackling which will promote safety. Each player will have the protective equipment. Laker Flag Football GR 3-5Recreation & SportsThe focus will be to build the fundamental skills of football while incorporating intramural competition. Practice time will be spent working on skills and drills. Teams will be divided in order to ensure maximum participation. Your child will receive a t-shirt for participating, please note the t-shirt size when registering; we will not be able to ensure correct sizes after September 1st. ACT PREPARATORY COURSESEnrichment OpportunitiesAdvantage Educational Programs, in cooperation with Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Community Education, will offer their ACT prep courses to students. Are you uneasy about your test-taking skills or unsatisfied with previous ACT results? This may be the course for you. Different course formats allow students to choose the one that best suits their learning styles and personal circumstances. Students are also able to make up any classes they miss, and all courses may be repeated online at no additional charge. Virtual ACT Prep Course: Virtual classroom meets for three hours, one day each week, for four weeks and is taught live, via zoom, by an Advantage instructor who provides instruction and interaction with the students. Self-Paced Online ACT Prep Course: This course is designed for students preferring to prepare for the ACT exam on their own schedule and at their own pace. Once enrolled, students are sent an access code for their class via email and can begin preparing.
